The Status of DO`s , Co`s , Zone Servants , or their equivalents , nowadays .
by smiddy ini am just trying to figure out who is an employer and an employee as opposed to a volunteer in this organisation .. are the governing body members of the wtb&ts employers ?
do they consider themselves volunteers ?.
are anybody male or female under their jurisdiction employee`s ?

The WT can twist it anyway they want but you know anything the WT does is to protect the organization. The R&F members do not count. To think all those faithful dubs that gave all their blood and sweat and sacrifice a life for this organization, in the end do not count. -

End times madness?
by erbie inmy wife's parents who are pretty obsessed with the watchtower religion are going on holiday more than they are at home these days and spending money like it is something evil to be got rid of.
i have not been to a meeting in a long time but after reading the thread on hysteria by campaign of hate and the whole tv broadcasting thing i got to wondering if they really are ramping up the 'sense of urgency'.
many on here are better informed than me so i'd be interested to hear whether this is a common thing..

It is our ego and our fear of death that makes us feel we are so significant that a god would have chosen our life time as being so important. In reality we are not anymore important than any other generation and in a thousand years who will even care or know what we did in this time. That is why it is so important to live each day to the fullest knowing it could be our last. -

Why are JW talks & publications never uplifting?
by thedepressedsoul ini was sitting at the meeting the other night and for the first time it hit, jw talks or magazines are never uplifting!
i rarely, if ever hear a talk or read a magazines and have it give nothing but praise to jehovahs servants or just praise jehovah and jesus throughout it.
they never just a read through the bible or just a bible story explained or told.

I got tired of hearing the same regurgitated garbage every week. Eventually I learned to just shut of my brain for the two hours or so i was in there. I would almost guarantee that if I went to a meeting now even though I have not being in a KH for 20 years, it will still be the same BS I heard 20 years ago. I can't believe that more are not that bright to figure this out. -

JW TV is the reason for the hysteria in the KH
by campaign of hate inif you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.
its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.
there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".

I am not sure if this has being discussed. I just watch "Deadly Devotion" on ID Channel. The episode was entitled, Witness to Murder. It was about the infamous 1985 case of Kim Anderson. I vaguely recall this story. Even though there was some inaccuracies on the portraying of the JW elders, it was good because it showed the JW,s and the elder arrangement for what they are, a controlling mind cult. After Kim pleaded with the elders that she had to get out of this abusive relationship and the elders forced her to stay in which ultimately led to her being killed by her abusive husband.

Rutherford was also a lose cannon and his last few years that WT stuck him out at Beth Sarim just to get him out of the way. -

There are a lot of charitable organizations out there that shouldn't be. The only thing the WT does is distribute literature and I don't see that as charitable works. -

William, may I ask, what you see (or, think you see) in China, that leads you to call China a 'repressive' regime?
We can only go by what is reported to us in the news media. Just two examples in recent memory, according to what I have read from different news sources, the news media in China is controled by the Central Chinese government that no negative pictures are allowed to be published and public protest are banned. I call this repressive. We don't have to go to far for Russia, in the last winder Olympics and their ban on gay rights. Again you may not agree with this life style but I would say that was repressive.

You cannot be a true honest "Christian" and a lawyer. I wonder if some of their legal counselers are not dubs?

This was one of the last eye openers for me. Growing up the society would tell us to not get a higher education but to put all our time into the full time preaching work. Then in the 1980's I recall hearing about this elder that my parents were good friends with, their son that was serving at Bethel and how the society was paying to put him through law school. I said at the time to my ex that it wasn't OK for us to get a higher education because we won't need that in the new system but it was OK for the WT to pay someone to get that higher education. Well she didn't like my comment. A bunch of friggin hypocrates.
Hope this is evetually resolved but the society with all its high priced lawyers will drag it out in court for years. Some honesty. I just hope these hypcrates can live with themselves.
